Below is a weekly homework schedule. The schedule lists assignments that are the same each week.

Your child will also have various assignments that are added to the list below. You should check the assignment book daily for homework not listed below.

Students are given time to write their assignments in their assignment books daily.

When students turn in their homework, a purple stamp is placed in the assignment folder to indicate that the homework made it to school on time.

Basic Schedule

Monday

1. Mrs. Ritenour selects a spelling assignment from the spelling activity list in each child's homework folder. If we do not have school on Monday, this assignment will be moved to Tuesday.

Examples of Other Homework

Here are examples of the kinds of homework you can expect this year.

Math- studying facts, finishing classwork, practicing new concepts, various projects

Science- home experiments, reading articles, projects and reports, gathering information, surveys

Social Studies- reading, research, projects, reports, surveys, interviews

Handwriting- cursive practice

Writing- completing a story, editing, writing a story, gathering data for a story, poetry projects

Reading- book activities and questions, projects, genre studies

Notes- Sometimes the school has information that needs to go home before Friday. If this occurs, students will make a notation to give their parents a note.

Parent Signatures- getting a paper signed by a parent
