I was having bad luck by not having very much food. I did not have much money and I did not get to prove that Liopleurodon was a real creature. My luck changed when I met a leprechaun. He looked like a tiny man and he had a green hat, a tiny orange mustache, tiny green pants, and shiny pointy black shoes. He had a gold necklace which had a golden "L" hanging from it. He had green clovers in the centers of his eyes. I whispered, "What is your name?" "My name is Luigi!" yelled the leprechaun. I whispered, "How do I get good luck?" "You have to trap me in a jar and open it!" I took a jar out of my pocket and chased the leprechaun. I caught him and then released him out of the jar. Leprechaun Luigi gave me a magic book that would make anything I imagine come out of the magic book. He gave me a magic cloth that would make food and drinks every time I opened it. He also gave me a magic watch that would take me to any time period. All I had to do was say the time period and I would be able to go to the past or future. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Like Reading By: Ashwin I like reading because you learn new facts when you read. Reading is fun because it can take you somewhere else and you can imagine you are lost in your book. When you read, you get to be the main characters and give them advice. You can be their friend too. Reading helps me you answer questions. It isn't boring, and it gives you ideas. Sometimes books are so interesting that I have trouble not reading them. Once I started reading at 8:00 PM and didn't stop until midnight. The next day at school, I was very sleepy! Scary books can make you feel terrified. They can also make you feel excited. Some books make me feel artistic and creative. Books make me want to read more so I'll be smarter. They sometimes make me feel surprised. Good books make me ask for more and they make me crazy for reading. Books make me happier in life. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Love If people hug in a movie, they are in love. If you want someone to fall in love with you, you should take them to a PG-13 movie. If I took someone on a date, I would take them to see "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." I'd wear a t-shirt and jeans. If I wanted to get rid of my date I'd play Godzilla Save the Earth. If I had a Valentine, I would give them Godzilla Save the Earth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Treating Others Good By: Ashwin I like being good to others because I like getting treated nicely. If I do something good for someone, they will do something good for me. I don't want to be bullied because I will get hurt, I will get in trouble, and I might get grouchy. I want to be treated nicely because I like to help others that need serious help, unless they are a bully because bullies never treat others good. Being nice is very important because if you are not nice you will be a bully. If I was a bully you would say to me, "Can you leave me alone for a few minutes?" Being nice is like having a reward, victory, and goodness. I like others being nice to each other because I can make new friends. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If You Give a Dinosaur a Donut By: Ashwin If you give a dinosaur a donut he will want some hot chocolate. When he drinks the hot chocolate, he will want some chocolate syrup. When he gets the chocolate syrup, he will want some ice cream to go with it. Eating ice cream will make him think of ice. Thinking of ice will make him want to go to Iceland. So, he'll ask you to get him a plane ticket. While he's in Iceland, he'll get cold. So, he'll start to shiver. The shivering will make him ask for a warm blanket and some hot chocolate. If he asks for hot chocolate, chances are&ldots; he will probably want a donut. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hideous hammerhead sharks hunt Hawaiians, horrible hippos, and handsome hobos because they hunger for humans and hippos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At midnight, the blood thirsty bad monster ran rabidly into the spooky house. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you know what guppies do when no one is looking? People think that guppies just swim around all day. But when no one is looking&ldots; They ride in cars. Guppies eat pizza. They make buildings. Guppies play video games. They like to go to school. Guppies wear clothes. They play football. They walk around on land. They go on rides. They go into space. But when anyone is looking&ldots; guppies just swim around. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Thoughts on Snow Snow is great because you can throw snowballs at people. You can make snowmen out of snow and you can make a snow fort out of snow. That is why snow is awesome. Snow is not great because it can be really freezing out there. Snow can be really dangerous. Snow might cover your house and car and snow might freeze your house. That is why snow is not awesome. The first day of snow this winter was November 16, 2005. I predict that the snow will end this winter on February 20, 2006. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thankful I am thankful for delicious pizza. I am thankful for my loveable family and my mom and dad. I am thankful for my smooth robo-raptor. I am thankful for my nice teacher. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Holidays that My Family Celebrates On Halloween we eat candy a lot. Halloween is on October 31st every year. My family celebrates by wearing costumes and giving candy when people come to the door.   On Christmas we eat normal food. Christmas is on December 25th. My family celebrates Christmas by decorating a Christmas tree and by putting lights on our house. This holiday is religious.   On Thanksgiving we eat mashed potatoes, roast, turkey or chicken, cherries, and gravy. Thanksgiving is on November 24th this year. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Putting Muscles in Your Verbs In our writing lesson, we learned how to put muscles in our verbs. I am going to show you some non-examples and some examples. Non-example: The Spinosaurus made a noise. Made is a wimpy verb. You want to use a strong verb. Example: The Spinosaurus roared. Here are some strong verbs you can use; leap, swoop, sprint, nibble, gobble, and grin. After we practiced using strong verbs with Mrs. Ritenour, we practiced by ourselves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Favorite Place to Read My favorite place to read is on the cozy bed in my bedroom. I want to tell you a little about my bed. My bed is ten feet wide and has eight foot blankets. It is seven feet tall. It is giant and red. I like it because it is soft and cozy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Wishes I always wanted to say when school is over because I would make every Friday a half day. I wish I knew how to clone because I want to make a new animal and keep it in the wild. I wish my parents would let me go to my friend's house because I want to play with my friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home My rules at home are; read a book after TV time. Eat at 7:00, make instruments after school, and wash my hands after school. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So Cool I think third grade is cool because I have a nice teacher. Third grade is cool because we do Halloween activities, read books, and do science experiments. My third grade classroom is cool because it has a fish tank. Third grade is cool because sometimes we get to watch science movies. I like to look at the science center because it is so cool. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Iggy the Iguana Iggy the Iguana is a plant eater. Iggy is a female iguana. Iggy has spikes on her back, a light grey face, a green tail, orange legs and body, and black stripes. Iggy's face feels like a stone. Iggy is fun to watch. She is cold blooded which means it copies the temperature it is in. When she is cold she faces the sun. When she is hot she lies in the shadows. Iggy lives in a cage. Iggy has sharp claws. Iggy is a lizard. Iggy is cool. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Animal Books My class wrote books about what animals do when noone is looking. Our books were fiction. We illustrated our books and the whole class read their books. Our teacher laminated the back and front of our book. It was fun making books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Hardest Thing to Do The hardest thing to do is create a clone. I have some of my D.N.A. Now I need a fossil of a meat eater. I might go on a fossil hunt. These are the ingredients, D.N.A., animals, and that's it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reading I am good in reading. I like to read books because it's fun to read and it helps you draw. I like to read any kind of books. Books are very cool. I like science books the best. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sound What I learned about sound is that it is created by vibrations that hit atoms. Atoms are particals that create sound. Dolphins and bats use echoes to tell what food is around. Sound is important to life. The sound we can increase is called volume. It was fun learning about sound. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What Guppies Do When No One is Looking Do you know what guppies do when no one is looking? I am a student, and I read books, I do my work at school, and I like science.
