For example: if you have a lucky charm with you at all times you have luck! But you can also have bad luck. You don't want bad luck! Some lucky charms are four leaf clovers, lucky pennies, and lucky horse shoes. But the best lucky charm of all is the leprechaun!!! The leprechaun is supposed to come out on St. Patrick's Day, but on other days he rarely does. If you catch him you have a shot at getting his pot of gold! But nobody ever has. One day he'll be caught. My friend's brother once caught a leprechaun. He put it in a jar and kept it there, but after lunch it was gone. So I guess I do know somebody who has caught a leprechaun. I guess you want to hear more? Then read a book! That's all folks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reading By: Neal Reading is like feeding your brain. I love reading chapter books, comic books, and magazines. I also love reading action and adventure books at least an hour a day. I like reading in my bed, in the car, and while talking on the phone. When I read I find exciting parts, sad parts, happy parts, and cool parts. Whatever kind of part it is that I read, I follow the feeling that's on the page. One time I finished a book in only two days! It was a chapter book too. When I start reading I can't stop. I love to read. Right now I'm reading Warriors Rising Storm. It's the forth book in the Warrior saga. The main character's best friend died. I got really sad at that part because they were great friends. I would feel sad too if one of my friends died. Sometimes I pretend to be Firecat, the main character in my book. The cool thing is I can see a picture of what I'm reading in my head. I just love these books and I think if you read the Warrior saga you will like them too! If you like adventure and action these are the books for you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Love Love is when two people bond. (Sick!) You can tell two people are in love because they look at each other and say, "Ahh!" If you want someone to fall in love with you, you have to sweet talk em'. When I'm 16, I will go on a date to the movies. I'll wear black clothes and spend $3.00. If I get mad at my date, I'll ditch her. When I'm 22, I will get married at the Longacre House. I will ask my girlfriend to marry me by saying, "Will you marry me? Pleaaaaase?" She will like to study, be good at math, and have a dad that's a policeman. If I had a Valentine, I would give them chocolate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kindness By: Neal If you are not kind to other people they won't want to be your friend. It doesn't matter if they're your friend already, you should still be kind to them. If you're mean to your friends they won't want to hang out with you anymore. You should care about other people's dignity. You should help other people if they need help. Be a good person and stick up for other people. Don't get mad or call people names for no reason. Don't interrupt when somebody is talking because it could hurt their feelings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If You Give a Horse a Hot Dog By: Neal If you give a horse a hot dog, he might want some milk to go with it. The milk will remind him of the cows at the farm where he was born. So he will want to visit the farm. He'll ask for some cowboy clothes to wear. He'll get carried away and start playing cowboys with you. When he's done, he'll be tired so he'll ask you to make him a bed. Then he'll want you to read him a story. So you'll read him one of your comic books. When you're done, he'll want to make one of his own. You'll get him some notebook paper so he can make notes before he makes his comic book. The white notebook paper will remind him of milk. So, he will ask you for some. If he drinks some milk, chances are&ldots; he will probably ask for a hot dog to go with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alliteration Weird warriors washed wild wolverines while Wingmen watched wacky wars in west Washington after whale watchers whacked a wild wet weirdo who whiffed whizzing wine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sentence Expansion At half past ten, the masked vicious monster ran quickly down the dark street. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Basketball Battle It was the day Neal and Stosh had been waiting for. It was the championship basketball game! Neal and Stosh's team was called the Meteors. The opponents' team was called the Twisters. The game started&ldots; Sorry for the interruption but when you see "T" or "M" next to a number it means "T" for Twisters and "M" for well you know&ldots;   Number 16T had the ball. He passed to 29T but missed. 513M caught the ball. He ran down the court. He took the shot! The ball went straight in. 02-00. The score switched. 32M had the ball, and boy was he fast! He slam dunked it! The board switched again. 2 to 2. While N7M was running down the court 20T tripped him! Foul! Everyone lined up. N7M took his first shot. He made it! He took his second shot. He made it! The score was 4 to 2. The it was half time.   The meteors had a plan. As soon as half time was over they started using the plan. N7M shouted pass to 513M. 513M got the ball. He took the shot! He missed. He got the rebound and tried again. He made it! 06-02. Thirty seconds were left. N7M took a shot from the line! Berrrrt! The timer rang as the ball fell! 09-02. The Meteors won the game! The trophy was huge and was filled with mini basketballs. Everyone gave a cheer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Corn Snake We have a new snake in our class. It feels squishy and soft. It's colorful. I felt excited when we got it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Thoughts About Snow I like snow because I can make snow forts, snowmen, snowballs, snow mountains, and snow buildings. I hate it when the snow melts and I have to wait till next year.   The first day of snow this winter was November 16, 2005. I predict that the last day of winter will be January 17, 2006. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Holidays Christmas The food we eat on Christmas is turkey, candy canes, salad, potatoes, and roast. This holiday is on December 25th. My family celebrates by putting up a tree and hanging ornaments on it. This is a religious holiday. Hanukah The food we eat on Hanukah is gellit and the usual foods. We celebrate by lighting the menorah. This holiday is religious. Halloween The food we eat on Halloween is candy. Halloween is on October 31st. We celebrate by going trick-or-treating. This holiday is not religious ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thankful I am thankful for my teacher because if I did not have a teacher I couldn't learn. I am thankful for my home because if I didn't have a home I'd live on the streets. I am thankful for the world because without the world humans wouldn't exist. I am thankful for A life because without a life I wouldn't have written this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All About Gorgeous Gobblers I’m writing about our class turkey project. We got a paper turkey from Mrs. Ritenour and when we got home we got materials to decorate the turkeys with. When we finished we wrote a story about how we decorated our turkeys. Then on October 31st, we turned it in and then we told the class what we used to decorate our turkey with and what it’s name was. My turkey looked like a man with a football and a brown shirt. I named it Couch Potato Turkey. Lydia’s turkey looked like a leaf type turkey. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Where I Like to Read I like to kick back and lie down on my hard bed and read in my dirty room. My bed is seven feet long and 99 percent hard. My bed's in the corner of my room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Halloween This Halloween I was Batman. I got over 500 pieces of candy. I went trick-or-treating with my friends Tony and Paul. It was a lot of fun! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Things I Wish I Could Do I wish I could fly. I wish I could get rich quick. I wish I could climb walls. I wish I could be a scientist. I wish I could have super powers. I totally wish I could be a spy. I also wish I could snowboard. But I don't think that could happen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If My Teacher Moved in With Me If my teacher moved in with me I'd hide under my bed and never come out. I would make a defense force around my room. I would make a Lego wall to protect my army men. I'd use a spy army man to see what she was doing.   I'd put micro chips in my army men and they would guard my room. I would have secret bases around the house. But I'd have to come out at dinner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vacation If I could go anywhere I'd go to Hollywood because I could meet movie stars and stuff like that. Plus I could meet the director of Star Wars. I could see how they animate stuff like Pokemon! (Pocket monsters) I would get to see the Hollywood sign. I could see the people's trailors and the buildings where they film movies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Homeworkopoly Homeworkopoly is a game where you can win prizes if you land on these spots; Community Lunchbox, Chance, Mystery Prize, Free Homework, or Game Spot. When you land on Chance, you draw a Chance card. You may get to invite a visitor to read to the class. When you land on Community Lunchbox, you draw a blue card. You may get to sit in the comfy chair all day. When you pass Go you get a treat! My class plays on Mondays, but you can't play unless you turned in all of your homework the week before. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Teacher The teacher I have this year is Mrs. Ritenour. She's really nice because she let's us play learning games a lot and she read stories to us. On Monday, if we get our spelling right the first time we get a treat from her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Iggy We have a new class pet named Iggy the Iguana. He doesn't do much though. He's kinda lazy. All he really does is eat and lie around, but we are good friends. I bet you don't believe what I am saying but it's true, we're friends. When he tries to stand he looks like Godzilla. (Iggyzilla) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Talents I can make stuff, draw good, and burp the ABC's. I can beat a whole file in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in five minutes. I can run for over eight minutes. I have a lot of talents. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reading and Writing I like to read Pokemon books. I read when it's time for bed. My favorite author is Tracy West. I read Captain Underpants too. I write comic books. I like writing about action comics. I write at any time. I write about anything. I don't share my writing that often. I've written 32 comic books. My favorite one is Star Battle Episode III. Like Star Wars, there is a battle at the end of the book. Now I'm working on Episode VI, Return of the Eaurdians. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What Cockroaches Do When No One is Looking Do you know what cockroaches do when no one is looking? People think that cockroaches just lie around. But when no one is looking... They get ready to battle praying mantises. They build tanks. Cockroaches make spears. They pick a leader. They form an army. They ready the tanks. They carry their spears on their shoulders. They get in roach walkers. They get in transporters. They head into enemy territory. I am a student, and a brother, and I like playing games and playing with my friends.
