I don't have much luck but I cross my fingers to win a prize. It works sometimes. I once saw a movie where a family was at a baseball game and they had very bad luck. The announcer said, "Row 20 just won $7,000,000 DOLLARS!" The family was in row 21. The same family was hit with hockey pucks and baseball bats. Even one of the sisters got hit by lightning! Bad luck is bad it is not funny! If you never win a prize, it is a sign of evilness, so you should get a lucky charm. You might be lucky some day! You can also get luck from a leprechaun. They are tricky so be careful. They wear green shirts and pants, they have orange beards too. They are very small so look out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why Books are Important By: Stosh Books are important because they help you learn. They entertain you. Reading can help you get a job and an education. When you are bored you can read a book. Before you just grab a book, pick a topic. For instance, if you want to read about magic here are some books; Harry Potter, Narnia, and Star Wars. If you want to get some ideas you should read Rainy Days, Fun Activities to Make Yourself. If you want to read funny books, read Calvin and Hobbes, Calvin and Hobbes the Apothecary, or Captain Underpants. I once got a book from Santa Claus. It was called Monster Island. It was about my siblings and me going to Monster Island, we were taken to Skull Mountain and held in prison! I love scary books. I like Scary Stories for Sleepovers and Goosebumps. My favorite is The Blob That Ate Everyone. I once read a book with 500 pages and finished in four days! When I went to Florida I read the whole way on the four hour plane trip. Sometimes books can make you laugh, cry, shout, or dream. Sometimes people write books that are turned into movies! Some books are about comic characters. Sometimes I make books and comics. I am working on one called No Slaves! It's about a slave that gets to have a dog that is killed by a hunter. He is so mad that he gets a jack hammer and becomes evil. He also falls into a machine and gets trapped. When you read you have fun. When you have fun you aren't bored. Reading can make you happy. I like reading because reading is cool! I am glad people make books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Love When two people are together and holding hands, it means they are in love. If you want someone to fall in love with you, you should give them nice gifts. If I went on a date, I would go to the movies. I'd wear something nice and green. If my date was bad I'd run away. When I find my true love, I will say, "Please marry me Honeybun!" If I had a Valentine, I would give them candy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why it's Important to be Nice By: Stosh It is important to be nice because if you are mean you will not have any friends. If you don't have friends you won't have any company. If you don't have company you won't have anybody to play with. This all starts when a nice person gets mad. I mean really mad. The mad person goes to school and is grouchy. Then they bug someone else and the person they bugged feels sad and turns grouchy too. Then that person picks on another person, then they pick on someone else, and they do it to someone else. This goes on and on and on until everyone is grouchy, unhappy, and nobody likes each other. That makes the day dull, the playground dull, the school dull, and the library dull. Then school isn't fun anymore. The lesson is: If you are nice, school will be fun! Your third grade reporter, Stosh ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Snow Attack By: Stosh One day, well it was Monday, I, Stosh, was in my bed thinking of pranks. Then an idea came to me. My brother would be my victim! I laughed an evil laugh, "Muhahaha." I decided to get my supplies. First I got my dad's razor. I tossed the supplies in my secret box. Finally I planned my plan. I decided to strike that night. At 10:30 PM, I was downstairs looking for Quinn's, my brother's, Game Boy. I found his Game Boy. Suddenly, a bright light came from Quinn's pet squirrel. It looked like a blue fire ball. I dodged it and quickly hid his Game Boy in the cupboard. My brother emerged from the darkness. It was so creepy. Quinn groaned, "You got lucky there, Stosh!" I gaped, "What is that?" He held up a squirrel. I laughed, "Ha, ha, ha." The next day, I put rocks in his pants and poured cement on his head. Then I threw all of his books and toys on the floor. That night, I struck again. I snuck into Quinn's room and pounced! Quinn let out a yell. I hid until he went back to sleep. Then I got my dad's razor and shaved off Quinn's hair. While I was shaving him, I sneezed, "Achoooo!" Quinn's squirrel went, "Shazoom!" That time, I got hit in the chest by a blue fireball. I suddenly felt cold, very cold! Everyone glared at me. I felt like crying but I didn't, I ran out of the house. I realized I was cold but from what? I looked down and I got the heebie-jeebies! I was a snowman! I was so scared! I ran around like a man that lost his guts. (Who likes guts anyway?) Finally, I found my guts and started to play. I shot hoops for a while then I decided I'd make my brother turn me back. So I ran inside to his room and shouted, "Quinn, if you turn me back I'll clean your room three times a week. I'll give you my Game Boy and let you pour mud on my head." Quinn sighed, "OK." Then he yelled the magic words and, "WALLA!" there I was! I learned a lesson. I learned to be nice to everyone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If You Give an Elephant Some Eggplant By: Stosh If you give an elephant some eggplant, he will want some Ranch dip to go with it. When he is done eating Ranch dip, he will be very messy. So he will want to take a bath in your swimming pool. When he is in the pool, he will see your treehouse. He will want to build one of his own. So he will ask you for some wood and nails He will make a tree house shaped like an elephant. Then he will want to paint it grey. When he is done painting, he will be messy. The paint all over him will make him think of Ranch dip and he will want some. If you give him some Ranch dip, chances are... he will probably ask for an eggplant to go with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alliteration Every Saturday, sinister spiders spray salt and stamp insults on stinky students and strangers swimming in Lake Superior. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sentence Expansion Before 12:00, the dull dumb monster ran clumsily into the haunted house. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Snake My experience with the snake was very fun! I held it twice! It was brown and orange. It was about two feet long. It is a Corn Snake and it is not poisonous. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Drawings I really like to draw. I like to draw when my bro and I are making comics. Well not all of the time. We are making comics and I am writing. I am really happy. They are on sale for 25 cents. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What Snow is to Me Snow is fun to play in and have snowball fights. It is good for snow forts. The bad thing about snow is that it is cold and it is a mess. The first day of snow was November 16, 2005. I think snowing will end on January 21, 2006. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Holidays I really like Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. I will tell about these holidays.   Halloween takes place on October 31st. The food we eat is candy. We celebrate by going trick-or-treating. It is not a religious holiday.   Christmas takes place on December 25th. We eat cookies with milk. We celebrate by putting up a tree and getting presents. It is a religious holiday.   Thanksgiving takes place on November 22nd. We eat turkey. We celebrate by giving thanks. It is not a religious holiday. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thankful I am thankful for my fantastic teachers. I am thankful for my tall family. I am thankful for my huge God. I am thankful for noisy me! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Favorite Place to Read My favorite place to read is on my comfortable bed. The way I like to read is with my head on the ground and my legs on my bed. My bed is about six feet long and three feet wide of "comfiness." I will be getting a desk so I might read on the desk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Halloween My Halloween was really fun. I ran quickly from house to house. When I got home my bag had three pounds of candy. Yesterday I brought my bag to my dentist. Since my bag weighed three pounds I got six dollars! This story is true. Believe it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Place Value In math we are learning place value. It is very easy. In place value you learn how to read numbers and how to spell them too. If you spell a number wrong, Mrs. Ritenour will mark it wrong because she gave us a paper that has all of the number words spelled for us. Place value is extremely important so the class and I pay attention closely. Sometimes we have to write numbers and count boxes. Example: 1,113 or one thousand one hundred thirteen That is place value. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I Wish The things I always wanted to do are visit the Bahamas, go to Mars as a walker, and go to China. I want to go to Hogwarts and be in the Quidditch finals. I wish I knew how to fly and how to change into any animal. I wish I could watch R rated movies. I wish I could run in the halls. That is what I wish I could do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home My life at home is fun. I have parties and make my own decorations on cards. I like to draw very fast drawings. I would like to change this pass fail thing to not watching movies for two days. That is what I really like to do at my house.   Dear Mrs. Ritenour, This is what I think about 3rd grade so far. I think 3rd grade is cool. I mean really cool! I like to sit at the middle table. I like to do math and science. I think the monster stuff is cool! I want to learn multiplication and division. "India is different than Michigan because nobody is nice in India," said Deepika. Gunter is where Deepika lived before she moved here. Deepika said, "Michigan is a beautiful place to play." Manas said, "Michigan is not as hot as California." Manas lived in Los Angeles and in Las Vegas before he moved here. Manas said, "Michigan is better than California because there are more friends to play with." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Talents I like to do stuff. I am very good at basketball, baseball, soccer, Star Wars, and science. I run fast too. I can beat all my friends except Matt. In the 411 yard dash I got first and he got second. I like to skateboard too. It is fun. You can go fast if your feet are less than an inch off of the ground. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Writing I like to write. I write in the day and night. I write comics and stories. Writing is very fun. I like to write because I don't have anything to do. That is why I write. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What Worms Do When No One is Looking Do you know what worms do when no one is looking? People think that worms just eat soil all day. But when no one is looking... They eat pizza. They wrestle with their heads. They throw soil bombs at each other. Sometimes they play with Worm-e-o cards. They play Wormzilla. They like to play fire fighter. Worms like to do flips. They make worm knots. They have head sword fights. They run worm races. But when anyone is looking... worms just eat soil all day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Important By: Stosh The important thing about me is that I am me. I am good at baseball, and I like to make comics and cards, and I like Star Wars and Pokemon. I do not like to get up in the morning. I do not like walking all the way to school. When I walk to school I get tired.
