Luck

By; Zach

I think luck is something that means good things happen. There are two kinds of luck; good luck and bad luck. If you walk under a ladder, it is bad luck. If a black cat comes in your path its bad luck too.

Some people have lucky charms like a lucky rabbit's foot or a lucky penny.

In March people look for small men called leprechauns. They want the leprechaun's pot of gold. Leprechauns have green pants and shirts with orange hair and little black shoes with buckles. You should never take your eye off of a leprechaun.

March is Reading Month

By: Zach

I like to read because it gives me something to do instead of playing video games or hockey. I mostly read inside if the weather is bad. Sometimes I read outside on my porch in the back yard. I also love to read in bed where it's cozy, but sometimes my brother will come in and ask me to play Harry Potter with him. Sometimes I do, other times I don't.

When I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I was surprised when Harry's name came out of the goblet of fire. It was hard to read an 874 page book, but I did it anyway.

Another book I enjoyed reading was, Magic Tree House, Good Morning Gorillas.

Some books make me laugh or make me sad or mad. It's hard to take me away from a book that I really like reading. When I like a good book, I imagine that I am the characters and that everything in my book is really here.

Love

When two people are in love they might hold hands, hug, or kiss.

If you want someone to fall in love with you, you should be nice to them.

I'd like to go on a date to Chuck E. Cheeses. I'd wear blue jeans and a t-shirt.

When I'm 40, I'd like to marry a rich person at Chuck E. Cheeses.

If I had a Valentine, I would give them a ring.

Treating Others Nicely

By: Zach

You should treat others nicely and you shouldn't be a bully because you will get in trouble. You should always have friends but you shouldn't be friends with a bully because you are afraid they will bully you if you aren't their friend.

You should treat others nicely because they might treat you nicely back. Don't be friends with a popular person because you think they are going to make you popular.

If you or someone else gets bullied tell an adult quickly. If someone is being grumpy and being a bully, that doesn't mean you have to be a bully too.

Never Trust Your Brother

By: Zach

One day in winter my brother, Nik, turned me into a snowman. He did it because I hid his Harry Potter video game. I hid it because Nik put snow down my shirt. I spilled hot cocoa down his shirt because he gave me pickle juice instead of Kool-aid. When I took a drink, I said, "That's sick!"

That night I shaved him bald with the dog. When he woke up he went to the bathroom and combed his hair and I heard an, "Ahhhhh!" My parents screamed too. He got so mad at me so when I got outside Nik peaked out with a potion in a Sprite bottle. Nik said, "Are you thirsty?" I was so I slurped down the potion.

"That tasted good..., " POP! I was suddenly a snowman! Now I was mad even more than he was. I just sat there watching cars pass. Nik threw a snowball at my back. I tried to turn around but it was too hard. I saw some people walk by and heard them say, "What a nice snowman they made."

I couldn't even smile, I could only frown. I was as bored as a dog chasing a car. A few days later, my brother came out and stood in front of me and asked if I liked being a snowman.

"Well, I have three reasons why I don't like being a snowman," I replied. "I'll melt when summer comes."

Nik replied, "Now I never thought about that!"

"You'll have to do more work for the dog, and you'll miss me. I think you should turn me back into myself!" I begged.

Nik whispered, "OK, but it will take me a while to make another potion."

I waited and waited. I walked around and spat on the snow.

The next day when Nik came outside and said, "It's ready." Then he turned me back into myself.

I said, "I'll never fight with you again."

Nik replied, "I'm not going to turn you into a snowman again."

Then we went inside for some hot cocoa. I drank five cups. Because I still had some snow on me, I went to bed thinking about when I was a snowman.

If You Give a Polar Bear a Pizza

By: Zach

If you give a polar bear a pizza he'll want some ice water.

When you give him some ice water, he'll want to play Don't Break the Ice.

When he loses the game, he'll get mad.

When he gets mad, he'll want to go swim in the lake to cool down.

Swimming will make him tired so you'll have to take him home to nap in your parents' bed.

After he wakes up, he'll want to look out the window.

When he looks out the window, he will see snow and will want to build a snowman.

Making a snowman will make him want to build a snow fort.

After he builds the fort, he'll want to have a snowball fight.

Having a snowball fight will make him thirsty and he will want some ice water.

When he has some ice water, chances are&ldots;

he'll want some pizza to go with it.

Our Thankful Turkeys

By: Zach

I'm going to tell you how to make a turkey that we made at school. If you want to make this turkey you need a brown piece of paper, a turkey head, one red feather, one orange feather, and one yellow feather. We printed our turkey heads on the computer. You also need four feathers that say, "I am thankful for." You need to write one thing you are thankful for on each feather. One should be about home, one about the world, one about school, and one about anything. We made our feathers on the computer in Powerpoint.

Mrs. Ritenour folded the brown paper for us. It was shaped like a diamond. Then we cut on three of the folded lines. We cut once on the left side, once on the right side, and once on the bottom to the middle of the brown paper. Next, we put our name on the yellow feather. We glued our turkey head on the top of the brown paper and put the yellow, orange, and red feathers behind the turkey head. The yellow feather was in the middle and the red and orange feathers were overlapping the yellow one. After that we glued the four thankful feathers overlapping each other. We put two on each side of the turkey. We glued the sides of the feathers together so they would stay still. Mrs. Ritenour put our turkeys on the wall in the hall.

What Pigs Do When No One is Looking

By: Zach

Do you know what pigs do when no one is looking?

People think that pigs just play in the mud all day.

But when no one is looking&ldots;

They take a drive in the car.

They play football.

They like to eat M&Ms.

Sometimes they go to the navy.

They read chapter books.

They like to watch TV.

They play hockey.

Sometimes they play with cows.

They play Build-a-Pig.

But when anyone one is looking&ldots;

pigs just play in the mud.
